According to the Ukrainian Processing Center (UPC) Data on November 23, 2018 – the day of Black Friday sales, more than 948 000 purchases were made through POS-terminals connected to the UPC. The total amount of these purchases was 623 mln. UAH and the average amount was 657 UAH.

That Friday there were 184 000 transactions in online stores which are already connected to the online payment system eCommerce Connect. The total amount of these purchases was 68.5 mln. UAH. That was 10% more in the number of transactions and 45% more in the volume of transactions than on the previous Friday (November 16, 2018).

On Friday sales cardholders of UPC customer-banks' cards made purchases for over 310 mln. UAH and 25% were spent in the Internet and other 75% was spent in regular stores.

There were 82% more card payments in online shops on November 23 than on the previous Friday. The average amount for such transactions had one-third rise and was 783 UAH. In retail stores the turnover of card transactions increased by 57%, and the average amount increased by 23% and represented 333 UAH.

It is worth mentioning that the number of purchases paid by cards on this day was not a record figure for 2018 and did not exceed the peak of transactions processed by UPC on April 6, 2018.
